Digitalization and the associated change in the world of work require competencies: from (digital) designing to the acquisition of a flexible and informatic mindset to an affinity for tools and media. Free discovery, open teaching spaces and problem-based tasks form the prerequisite for “making” in the classroom. Not infrequently, this requires changes in the teaching process. In order to equip future teachers with the necessary tools for this type of teaching, the PH Zurich team at the Center for Media Education and Computer Science is developing and testing “Making” modules for continuing education as part of the innovation program of the Zurich universities’ digitization initiative.
