Dr. Ning Wang was appointed a member of the Global Future Council on the Future of Technology Policy by the World Economic Forum (WEF) during 2023-2024.
The World Economic Forum’s Global Future Councils (GFC) are the world’s premier interdisciplinary and multistakeholder insight network dedicated to generate deep understanding of frontier topics and established ecosystems. It aims at promoting innovative thinking to address global, regional, and industry-specific challenges, and to shape a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
The Council on the Future of Technology Policy addresses the question “How can policies, regulations and institutions be transformed to scale technologies responsibly?” It acknowledges that, to seize the benefits of rapid technological progress while managing its risks, it is essential to foster responsible technology governance and regulation, advance the digital transformation of sectors and industries, and promote tech-enabled solutions to serve people and the planet.
The WEF’s GFC network convenes over 500 top experts from business, academia, civil society, and government in 29 thematic councils. It is an invitation-only community, and members are nominated for a one-year period.
We are pleased to have Dr. Ning Wang as a representative at the network who can contribute fostering ethically informed technology governance and are looking forward to her reports.
