The project aims to deepen the understanding of the Circle of Willis, an important vascular system in the brain. This is a network of blood vessels at the base of the brain that allows blood to be redirected in the event of an ischemic stroke.
The project team is working with clinicians to collect high-quality, categorized data. With this data, an automated tool is being developed using virtual reality (VR) for 3D data visualization.
The tool will help clinicians and researchers analyze brain images, especially brain vessels. The three-dimensional representation of the vasculature allows abnormal vessels to be identified and predictions to be made. This supports physicians in making treatment decisions for patients.
The integration of the tool into clinical imaging significantly improves the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases.
