Participatory GIS and Farmer Science to promote diversification, innovation and cooperation in agriculture
The project aims to use a citizen science approach to connect innovative farmers and co-create new knowledge about the cultivation of niche crops. It thus promotes the information exchange between research and agricultural practice and contributes to the diversification and climate adaptation of agriculture.
Working together to promote the cultivation of niche crops
The AgroPioneer project is based on the so-called “farmer science” approach, in which interested farmers and other practitioners can contribute their knowledge, opinions and experience and are networked with researchers.
Will you also become an AgroPioneer?
Do you grow niche crops or are you interested in doing so? Then we need you at our workshop, which will take place on February 7, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (lunch included) at Strickhof in Lindau. There, various innovative practitioners will have the opportunity to exchange ideas about niche crops and work together on the development of our AgroPioneer app. If you are interested, please send an email to franziska.komossa@uzh.ch. Places are limited!
Are you unable to attend the workshop but would still like to be part of our network of innovative farmers and find out more about the progress of the project? Then send an email to dany.schulthess@strickhof.ch.
