The project Tele-Assessment aims to improve stroke rehabilitation by using AI to measure and analyze upper extremity movements. By recording patients with cameras and motion sensors, therapists can label the data to train algorithms that replicate their expert assessments. This innovative approach supports tele-rehabilitation, allowing effective therapy at home. The cost-effective, open-source system uses deep learning and neural networks to provide holistic movement assessments, making advanced rehabilitation accessible and affordable for all.
