Joshua Weidlich has been appointed by the University Council of the University of Zurich to the DIZH Bridge Professorship “Digital Higher Education” of the PH Zurich and the University of Zurich. As an assistant professor with tenure track, he will strengthen topics relating to digital change in higher education teaching at the University of Zurich from October 1, 2024. The bridge professorship expands the collaboration between the University of Zurich and the PH Zurich and supports research and innovation on digitalization topics with interdisciplinary approaches.
At the University of Zurich, Joshua Weidlich is assigned to the Institute of Educational Science. At the PH Zurich, he will make a substantial contribution to the further development of the research group “Empirical University Didactics”. Joshua Weidlich will be involved in professional and content-related exchange formats of the Research Center for Education and Digital Change and the Center for University Didactics and Development.
Joshua Weidlich studied educational science at Chemnitz University of Technology, specializing in e-learning and new media. He then completed a Master’s degree in e-learning and media education at the Heidelberg University of Education and went on to complete a doctorate at the University of Hagen. Most recently, he worked as a research assistant at the DIPF Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education in Frankfurt am Main. Joshua Weidlich was involved in projects on competence-oriented feedback for digital learning and on factors for academic success and drop-out in digital study formats.
