The AI+X Summit 2024, organised by the ETH AI Center in collaboration with the ZHAW and UZH, brought together experts from science, industry and politics at the beginning of October to shed light on current developments in artificial intelligence (AI).
The AI+X Summit provides an annual platform for discussing the opportunities and challenges of AI and promotes dialogue between research and practice.
Contributions from ZHAW
The ZHAW contributed to the program with events on Generative AI and AI in Finance and presented projects that combine research and practice. Special attention was paid to the promotion of AI skills and the use of AI for sustainable applications.
Contributions from UZH
UZH’s Digital Society Initiative (DSI) focussed on ethical issues such as responsibility in AI and bias in digital platforms. With keynotes and an interactive programme, UZH demonstrated how AI can be used responsibly.
Contributions from ZHdK
The ZHdK was also represented at the AI+X Summit. ‘Conversations with Stanley’ enables the public to have conversations in real time with an emotionally responsive artificial intelligence. The project aims to make technology tangible in a low-threshold way, encourage critical reflection and open up a public and broad debate on the role of algorithms in our society.
The next edition will take place from 29 September to 4 October 2025 in Zurich.
