A joint workshop by DSI Community AI & Law x DSI Community Education aims to address the legal and educational challenges of artificial intelligence with a focus on digital literacy and responsible AI use. The workshop will feature two keynote lectures and an interactive workshop focusing on AI literacy, followed by an Apéro. Everybody who is interested is welcome to join.

Our uneasy, but promising, relationship with AI in education

Drawing on prior research and a recent systematic review, the speakers will introduce a new framework outlining the essential conditions for effectively leveraging AI in teaching and learning. The audience will gain insights into how to navigate and adapt to AI-driven transformations in education.
The evolving legal landscape for AI and education: Copyright and data protection aspects

This presentation will explore the legal risks and strategies surrounding the responsible use of AI, with a particular focus on AI literacy and educational contexts. It will examine key issues related to copyright and data protection. While drawing on current legislative frameworks – including the EU AI Act – the talk will place emphasis on ongoing developments in Switzerland and other jurisdictions, fostering a comparative perspective on AI regulation and governance.
Enhancing digital literacy with Apollolytics

In this workshop, Kilian will introduce Apollolytics, a browser extension he developed to enhance digital literacy in the age of AI. The tool helps users recognize and understand manipulative content in online messages, equipping them with critical skills to navigate today’s complex information landscape. Participants will gain hands-on experience using Apollolytics to detect and analyze disinformation in real time.
